The Department of Radiology, Henry Ford Health System, is seeking a board certified, fellowship trained Breast Imager with significant experience in Breast MRI to join our well established, progressive Division of Breast Imaging. The Division includes 18 dedicated Breast Imagers. The radiologists are responsible for teaching residents and fellows, performing screening and diagnostic mammography, digital breast tomosynthesis, breast MRI, breast ultrasound, image-guided core biopsies and localization procedures (predominantly with Magseeds, but occasionally with wires), as well as being part of the multidisciplinary breast oncology team. The department has started a Molecular Breast Imaging (MBI) program and is currently a participant in a multi-institution clinical trial involving MBI. The Division provides services at the state of the art Henry Ford Cancer Institute in Detroit, Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital, Henry Ford Macomb Hospital and multiple additional breast imaging sites throughout Metropolitan Detroit. We perform a total of approximately 80,000 breast studies per year.
Opportunities exist for weekend moonlighting shifts in other areas of radiology.
Henry Ford Medical Group is a large multi-specialty academic practice in SE Michigan, established in 1915. We are a self-governed, integrated multispecialty group practice with approximately 1200 providers. HFMG provides physicians the independence to pursue advanced clinical care while undertaking research as well as academic educational initiatives. For these reasons, Henry Ford Medical Group physicians are consistently selected by their physician peers as “top doctors” in various local and national published surveys and chosen to lead national and state medical organizations. Henry Ford Hospital has more physicians listed as “Top Docs” than any other hospital in Metropolitan Detroit in the book America’s Top Doctors.
The Radiology Department provides the radiology services for the system's flagship institution, Henry Ford Hospital (HFH), which is an 877-bed tertiary/quaternary care hospital, education and research complex in Detroit's New Center area. The Department also services Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital, located in West Bloomfield, MI and Henry Ford Macomb Hospital, located in Clinton Township, MI. The main campus hospital is a Level I Trauma Center and a tertiary/quaternary care center for Pulmonary Medicine, Orthopedics, Oncology, Organ Transplant (including renal, liver, pancreas, small bowel, heart, and lung), Gastrointestinal Disease, Urology and Cardiovascular Disease. These services, combined with active primary care, translate into diverse radiological exams with a broad spectrum of pathology. The department performs over 800,000 examinations per year, is fully PACS (Phillips/Stentor) integrated, and utilizes PowerScribe 360 voice recognition dictation software. The Henry Ford Radiology Department has its own informatics and IT group. There is also a dedicated Night Emergency Radiology Division.
The Breast Division maintains excellent relationships with highly rated Breast Surgery, Pathology, Radiation Oncology and Medical Oncology Departments. Division members participate in multiple comprehensive breast cancer clinics as well as clinical conferences and tumor boards.
The Department of Radiology trains 9 residents per year, and in addition to resident education, the Breast Division helps educate 3 Breast Imaging fellows. Henry Ford Health System is partnered with Wayne State School of Medicine, and Henry Ford physicians that teach medical students receive academic appointments from Wayne State.
